The Outsiders was based on a true event not something that just came from an imagination.It was based on the author S.E. Hinton friend, who was jumped by the "nice" kids ,that made S.E. Hinton mad and inspired him to write the Outsiders .Ponyboy the youngest of his two older brothers Sodapop and Darry.This story begins when Pony walks home from the movies but then gets jumped by the Socs .Luckily ,Pony's friends came and scared off the Socs .Greasers and Socs have a conflict between each other ,Socs are considered the "high" class and Greasers are known as the "low" class.Pony meets up with his best friend Johnny at his house ,and they walk to the park .As they walk ,they notice that they are being followed by the Socs .Pony and Johnny start to run ,but the Socs stopped by them by fountain.Couple of Socs got Pony and started to drown him in the fountain while other Socs were holding Johnny from stopping them.Pony wakes up ,not knowing what happened but he see's two Socs laying died and notices Johnny there next to him saying "I had to..they were going to kill you ".Pony and Johnny knew they had to leave town , they meet up with Dallas and got some money and directions to an abandon church .Johnny and Pony had to change their appearance ,Pony went to blonde hair ,Johnny went to short curly hair .Later on ,Johnny and Pony become heros , they saved a couple of children when the church was on fire.Pony had no injuries but Johnny suffered major injuries .They rushed to the hospital ,but as days pass Johnny couldn't handle the pain ,he then passed on.Johnnys death caused a rumble between Socs and Greasers ,it then caused Dallas to be crazy ,rob a store ,and being shot by the police .At the end of the story ,Pony gets his pen , a paper , and then writes his journey he had .
